The Pearls

Inspired by Ayat 22 of Surah Ar-Rahman — “From both of them emerge pearls and coral” (Yakhruju minhuma al-lu’lu’u wal-marjan) — The Pearls is the first painting in an ongoing series inspired by the Surah’s profound imagery and message.

The artwork reflects the beauty hidden within creation and the blessings that emerge from the depths of the seas. Pearls and coral serve as reminders of the wonders of the natural world and the countless signs of Allah’s mercy that surround us.

As *Part I of the Surah Ar-Rahman Series, *The Pearls marks the beginning of a visual exploration of the Surah, with future works continuing to interpret its verses through art. Surah translates to “The Beneficent” or “The Most Merciful” and emphasizes Allah’s mercy and the blessings he has bestowed upon humanity. It contains 78 verses that repeatedly ask, “Then which of your Lord’s blessings would you both deny?”
